Aunt Marcella & Hope
We were sad this week to say goodbye to Aunt Marcella (Corey’s dad’s sister). She was a kind lady that lived nearly 60 years . She was never married but worked for the president at Freed-Hardman University so she had the opportunity to touch many kids lives in her days. She loved Cardinals baseball, singing old hymns, telling funny stories of days gone by and her great-nephews and niece. We found out at the funeral from some of her friends that she was very proud of our kids and loved to share pictures of them we sent or from this blog. After Gracie was born and was given the name Ella Grace she quickly chimed in that she was named after her...Marc{ella}. She was so proud. Right before she passed she gave her baby ring to Gracie.

These pictures are from last Christmas. I know we will all treasure the picture of the whole family together one last time. Aunt Marcella will truly be missed and has left a legacy that we won’t even fully see until we are in heaven. We are so grateful that she is finally getting some rest because her suffering was so great in the end.

Hope
I don’t know what you think about what happens when we die but I always like to image the family that we’ve lost over the years taking care of my precious Hope that passed 2 summers ago. I love to picture them holding and rocking her and telling her stories about us. Hope would be 1 1/2 today probably running around driving her bubba crazy. I can’t wait to introduce them one day. After our miscarriage a friend of ours shared a song with us called “Come to Me” to comfort us, that God was there for us. But, as I heard the words tears filled my eyes as I thought of God calling Hope saying I am here, broken one, introducing himself to her, saying rest as he cradles her in His arms, and that you are never alone. I can’t hardly sing these words without tears because it reminds me of how amazing He is and that He is the great healer. So Aunt Marcella, hurry and find my baby girl Hope and tell her I love her and that I can’t wait to meet her. Here are the words to this special song. I wish you could hear how it goes because it is so pretty.
Come to Me......
Come to me weary one. I am here. I am here.
Come to me weary one. I am here . I am here.
So rest in my arms . Oh my child. Oh my Child.
And rest in my arms you are never alone.
I am with you. I am God.
Come to me broken one . I am here. I am here.
Come to me broken one . I am here . I am here.
So rest in my arms. Oh my child. Oh my Child.
And rest my arms you are never alone.
I am with you . I am God.
